Overview
Inwista creates professional subtitles in over 70 languages from any audio or video file, together with an accurate transcript with speaker labels. Upload a file or paste a link, pick the language, and a few minutes later you have finished captions and a full transcript you can read, correct and export.
Most tools stop at raw speech to text. Inwista is built for the step after that, where captions have to be readable, correctly timed and on brand before anyone can publish them. It covers two jobs that usually need two separate products. One is pure transcription for recordings that never go near a video editor. The other is a complete video studio for projects where the subtitles are part of the final picture.
Key features
- Professional subtitles in 70+ languages. Accurate captions from audio or video, with speaker labels and timing that follows the speech.
- One click subtitle enhancement. Inwista rewrites the raw text into proper broadcast blocks, keeps reading speed within limits and locks the timing to the speech, so the captions read as if a professional subtitler made them.
- Translation. Translate subtitles into more than 70 languages in the same project. Every translation gets the same enhancement, so each language reads just as cleanly as the original.
- Transcripts with speaker labels. Read and correct the text in a clean editor, keep names and terminology consistent with custom glossaries, and turn any recording into summaries, chapters, highlights and Q&As.
- Captions styled to your brand. Set the look once, then burn the captions into the video at up to 4K or export them as separate subtitle files.
- Edit video by editing text. Delete a sentence from the transcript and the matching footage is cut with it. A real timeline sits alongside for cutting, layering and arranging clips.
- Generate what is missing. Create images, video, music and voiceover inside the editor and place them on the timeline next to your own footage.
- Exports for every workflow. SRT, VTT, TTML, TXT and HTML on every plan, with DOCX, PDF and CSV on paid plans.
Integrations and automation
Finished captions can be published straight to YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, Bunny Stream and Cloudflare Stream. Files can be delivered automatically to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, Box, Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage, with notifications in Slack.
For teams that want subtitles without opening an app at all, a REST API and webhooks run the whole pipeline from upload to finished file. Inwista also connects to automation platforms such as n8n and Make, so you can build a fully automated transcription pipeline with n8n.

What sets it apart
- Built for the finished result. Raw transcription is only the start. Enhancement, translation, styling and export all happen in the same project, so nothing has to be passed between tools.
- Privacy first. All processing runs on our own servers inside the EU/EEA under GDPR. Recordings and transcripts are never shared with third parties and never used to train AI models.
- Transcription and video in one place. Use it as a pure transcription tool, as a full video editor, or both, without paying for two products.
- Made in Norway. The app itself is available in nine languages, and support comes straight from the people who build it.
Pricing
